What do you use your photo editing software for?

Hi all,

I am relatively new as a photographer. I use Photoshop for my general photo editing , and have had some interesting times using tutorials and what I learned on the course to generate effects.

However, I'm interested in what others most like to do to their pictures? I feel like I might be missing something.

I need to show this led finger light with a white background. But the light needs to be on and show a little color on that white background. If I just use a brush and white out some area around the light hitting the table then it does not look very good. I want to make a great looking photo to put on the front of this website. I have done some OU courses before, but not in the last couple of year, and they were on Computer design so it will be interesting to see how this one compares.

I am in week 4 of the present T189 course. I have only been interested in photography for a few months - I've had a digital camera for years - after passing my OU biology course. I am getting a DSLR for Christmas - but it's coming tomorrow. I can't wait for the delivery van to arrive. I am really enjoying the course and like the way it's being run - I've received some good advice and stolen some good ideas to try out. Not sure my husband is all that impressed with new...

so i cant install the OU software or get on the course web site.
